The Alabama Red Rovers, a group of volunteers, 61 strong, from Courtland, Alabama were organized by Dr. John Shackelford in December of 1835. After the unit arrived in Texas it was assigned to the Lafayette Battalion and joined Fannin at La Bahia.  

Red Rovers Set consists of 6 mixed pose kits.

The volunteers from Tennessee who came to the Alamo with Davy Crocket were dressed in coonskin hats with a mixture of buckskins and ordinary clothing.

The New Orleans Greys split after reaching Texas, part of the unit went with Fannin to La Bahia; the other part went to defend the Alamo. The flag of the New Orleans Grays was flying over the long barracks during the last battle.

Equipped from the public armory in New Orleans, they wore a grey uniform with soft cap and short jacket. Their leather work was black.
